Self-care is not SELFISH! When it comes to Mental Health that is one of the most important things your need to understand. 

You can be a better mum, employee, partner and friend when you take time out to look after yourself.  If you are overwhelmed, stressed or dealing with Mental Illness then not stopping to look after yourself will have an impact on everyone around you. 

Last week I was lucky enough to undertake a training day with The Black Dog Institute to be a Volunteer Community Presenter advocating for Mental Health awareness through my own lived experience and scientific research.

My Top Tips for Improving Your Mental Health are :

1.   Talk to a close friend or health professional
2. Do some exercise
3. Take 5 min to close your eyes and breathe deeply
4. Do something you enjoy
5. Remove yourself from toxic people or situations
6. Write down 3 things you are grateful for
